Ludhiana, January 28, 2025: Punjab Government has appointed Harpreet Sandhu, a local resident, as the state information commissioner (SIC). He is a lawyer by profession and a former Additional Advocate General Punjab.
Sandhu is known as an author, environmentalist, heritage promoter, and nature artist. Renowned for his expertise in international law and relations, he has authored a series of legal comparative books that compare Indian legal systems with other nations.
He has represented India as an Ambassador of Goodwill to France under the RI GSE Program. He has also worked as a coordinator on behalf of Ghana High Commission promoting business relations of Ghana with India.
His contributions to comparative legal studies earned him a Certificate of Honour from the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India on the Constitution Day 2024 at New Delhi.
Harpreet Sandhu is deeply committed to preserving Punjab’s rich cultural and architectural heritage monuments through his pictorial art work. His pictorial compilations of Punjab’s scenic locations have further fostered cross-cultural and tourism opportunities.
