Haryana didn’t get any new project, PM's visit only brought disappointment: Former CM Hooda

Rohtak, April 15, 2025: Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said the BJP kept projects approved by the Congress government hanging for 11 years. He said Hisar Airport and Yamunanagar Thermal Power Plant are projects of Congress government, but the BJP could not complete them even in 11 years.

While talking to media persons at Rohtak on the visit of the Prime Minister, Hooda said while he was thankful and welcomed the inauguration and foundation stone laid by the PM, but the people of Haryana had many expectations from this visit.

“From Hisar Airport to Yamunanagar Thermal Power Plant, both projects are basically Congress government projects, but the BJP government kept it hanging for 11 years. Today, a futile attempt is being made to get applause for the work which should have been done 11 years ago,” he said.

Hooda said that in 11 years, the state did not get a single big project, institution or big industry from the central government. “The state government provided false information about itself to the Prime Minister. Like BJP claims to give 25,000 jobs in its third term; whereas the truth is that these jobs were kept pending by BJP for the last 5 years,” he said.

“Ever since the new BJP government has been formed, it is constantly being reprimanded and fined by the High Court for irregularities in recruitments. Till now, this government has not even been able to conduct CET leave alone making any recruitment,” he added.

Hooda said this government has also cheated the Kaushal Nigam workers. “BJP, which had announced to make 1,25,000 skilled workers permanent before the elections, started removing them from the job after forming the government. BJP is also constantly playing with the farmers. In speeches, it is claimed that MSP is given on 24 crops. Whereas the truth is that neither 24 crops are grown in Haryana nor is MSP given on them,” he pointed out.

The former Chief Minister said BJP had promised to give a rate of Rs 3100 for paddy before the elections, but after forming the government, the farmers were not even given MSP. “Now even the wheat farmers are facing problems in selling their crops. Neither the purchase is being done on time, nor the gunny bags and tarpaulins are available in the mandis, nor the lifting from the mandi is happening on time. Payment to the farmers is also getting delayed due to this,” he said.

Hooda also pointed out that since the moisture content in the farmer's crop has increased due to the sudden unseasonal rains, the Congress has demanded that the amount of moisture relaxation be increased by two percent.

On the case registered by the Punjab government against Pratap Singh Bajwa, Hooda said that it is a completely politically motivated and condemnable decision. “Instead of registering a case, the Punjab government should investigate the information given by Bajwa,” he stated.
