HARYANA gets three new rail lines in Rail Budget

Congress MPs Deepender Singh Hooda and Ashok Tanwar welcoming the rail budget proposals at New Delhi on Tuesday. In Rail Budget, Haryana state  has got Rail Coach Factory, Flash Welding Plant, one National Skill  Development Centre, three new Rail Lines and number of new trains.

New Delhi /Jalandhar, February 26, 2013: Haryana has got three new rail lines out of total 22 announced in the  Rail Budget presented by Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal in Lok Sabha today. 

A railway coach manufacturing factory will also  be set up in  Sonipat district of Haryana.

Haryana Lok Sabha MP from Rohtak, Deepender Singh Hooda thanked the Railway Minister for providing three new rail lines for Haryana. He also thanked the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for meeting the long pending demands of Haryana. Hooda said that the Rail Budget presented today has kept the common man in focus, besides expanding the railway network in the whole of country.

Hooda said that the three new rail lines in category II are Delhi-Sohna-Nuh-Firozpur Jhirka-Alwar, Hisar-Sirsa via Agroha and Fatehabad and Yamunanagar-Chandigarh via Sadhaura, Narayanagarh. With Delhi-Alwar Rail line, Mewat area will be getting a rail line link for the first time. With Hisar-Sirsa line, Sirsa will now get connected to Delhi via Hisar.

Hooda said that  one of the biggest Railway Coach Factory will be set up in 400 acres of area  in Sonipat district of  Haryana, in collaboration with the state government. Two small plants will also be set up – a modern signaling equipment facility at Chandigarh through PPP mode and a flash butt welding plant in Sampla. A skill development centre will be set up in Sirsa to impart skills to the youth in railway related trades. This will enhance the employability of the youth of the State. There is also a proposal under categaory I special projects, for  Rewari- Rohtak new line extension up to Makrauli, which  will serve as a railway by-pass for Rohtak. As a result of this,  Rohtak- Panipat line will be shifted out of the city.  Rohtak, thus will become the first town in the country to have such a line, which will help in decongesting Rohtak city.

Hooda also said that the under the category of surveys of new lines, two surveys are proposed in Haryana- for Dadri- Jharli via Jhajjar and Narwana- Uklana. He also said that one MEMU electric Train service between Delhi-Rohtak and two DEMU services between Delhi- Kurkushetra via Kaithal and Rohtak-Rewari are also proposed for Haryana.

Hooda said that the new rail line projects, which are expected to be completed during the next financial year are Jind-Bhambewa-Gohana and Gohana- Sonipat. There is also proposal  for electrification of two rail lines , Delhi-Rewari-Jaipur and Jakhal-Hisar.

Sirsa Lok Sabha, Mr Ashok Tanwar also thanked the Railway Minister Pawan Bansal for taking care of the interest of Haryana. He particularly expressed his gratitude towards Congress Vice President   Rahul Gandhi and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, besides UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Tanwar said that all this  has been possible, because Rahul Gandhi took special interest for Haryana.

Tanwar said that the new rail line projects given to Haryana are going to change the socio-economic scenario in the Sirsa and Mewat districts of Haryana. The Railway Minister has taken care to see that the railway network is strengthened throughout the country, he said.  It is expected that about 1.5 lakh new vacancies will be created in railway. A provision has also been made to keep 10 per cent reservation for women in Rapid Railway Protection Force. This will help in enhancing the feeling of security among women rail passengers.
