Haryana Government connects every area in state through road network

New Delhi/ Jalandhar, August 7, 2013: Haryana Government has connected every area in the state through road network. In this regard, the Government has spent crore of rupees for laying about 2645 km long roads in district Karnal.

While giving this information, an official spokesman said that out of this, 2509 km long roads had been constructed by Public Works (Building and Roads) Department and 136 km long 52 roads at a cost of Rs. 24 crore had been constructed by Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB). This include construction of two roads of 2.78 km length at a cost of about Rs. 39 lakh in Karnal Assembly Constituency, ten roads of 19.82 km length at a cost of about Rs. four crore in Indri Constituency area, eight roads of 7.59 km length at a cost of about Rs. 1.52 crore at Gharunda, 21 roads of 69.61 km length at a cost of about Rs. 13 crore at Assandh Constituency area and 11 roads of 36.82 km length at a cost of about Rs. five crore at Nilokheri Assembly Constituency.

He said that Public Works (Building and Roads) Department has constructed roads in every area of the district for better connectivity. He said that lakhs of rupees were being spent by the department on the repair work of roads and renovation work of some roads was being carried out. At present, the district has 185.69 km long seven state highways including two roads of Kunjpura-Karnal- Kaithal road, Karnal-Assandh-Jind, Kunjpura-Karnal-Kachhwa road, Karnal-Indri, Nilokheri-Karsa-Dhand road and Assandh-Safidon road.

Similarly, Kohand-Munak-Assandh and Karnal-Munak road in the district have been given the status of Major District Roads (MDR) which is 63 km in length. He said that Other District Road (ODR) were 507 in number which were 1357.35 km long and connects rural areas.

He said that Indri Constituency area in the district has 310.751 km long roads, Karnal Constituency area has about 35.660 km, Gharunda Constituency area has about 221.343 km, Assandh Constituency area has about 471.319 km and Nilokheri Constituency area has about 317.575 km long roads. The ODR in State Highways include about 37.600 km in Indri Constituency area, about 61.100 km in Karnal Constituency area, about 24.64 km in Nilokheri Constituency area, about 62.35 km in Assandh Constituency area which connects rural areas. Similarly, there were two MDRs and they were about 19.85 km in Assandh Constituency area and about 43 km in Gharunda Constituency area.
