Haryana Chief Minister,  Manohar Lal  addressing the gathering at the CREDAI Conclave 2014 at New Delhi on Monday.

New Delhi, November 24, 2014: Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar said that the State Government would take concrete steps to provide affordable houses to the people. Coordinated efforts are needed to fulfill the aim of ‘houses for all’ and it is not possible for a single agency or the government to make availability of houses for one and all.

The Chief Minister was addressing the conference of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) organised at New Delhi today. He said that the State Government would consider tying up with CREDAI to provide housing facility to people.

He said that all big developers would have to make efforts to provide such facilities in rural areas on the pattern of urban areas. It would be a move towards preventing the migration from rural belt to towns and cities thereby strengthening the economy of the country. We have to work for creating a balance in the living standard of rural and urban areas, he added.

He said that cost is also a factor in affordable housing adding that the purchasing power of people is not that much. He said that the State Government would contribute in making affordable housing scheme a success. He urged the private sector companies to bring the affordable housing schemes under their corporate social responsibility so as to fulfill the dream of everyone to own a house.

The Chief Minister said that there is a big area of unauthorised colonies in the state. Everyone wants to have their own house, but the government is unable to provide housing facility to people as per their purchasing power.

He said that sometimes unauthorised colonies are developed without licenses and in this regard a committee would be constituted to take further action. He said that the present Government in Haryana has not even completed one month since its formation yet it is working efficiently.
