Haryana team looking cheerful on winning National Volleyball Championship trophy at LPU campus.

Jalandhar, January 30, 2019: The third-season of two-day ‘Schools India Cup National Volleyball Championship’ concluded at Lovely Professional University (LPU) today. Different contingents comprising 200 players and officials from across the country participated in it. On the final day Haryana showcased the best of volleyball and lifted championship trophy by defeating Uttar Pradesh in the final match. Haryana defeated Uttar Pradesh by 3 sets with scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-17. As such Uttar Pradesh remained first runner up and the team from Tamil Nadu got declared second runner-up. In fact, 12 Teams competed in the championship were from the states of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal (Pool A); Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat (Pool B); Jharkhand, Uttrakhand, Punjab (Pool C); and, teams for Pool D were from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir.
The championship was organized at LPU Campus under the aegis of ‘School Sports Promotion Foundation (SSPF)’ of India- a philanthropic trust, which is committed to promote sports at schools, colleges and universities across India. This initiative of SSPF was in partnership with the Sports Authority of India and supported by the Ministry of HRD.
