New Derlhi/Jalandhar, September 9, 2013:  Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has welcomed the decision of International Olympic Committee (IOC) to include wrestling in 2020 Olympic Games, which are to be held in Tokyo, Japan.

Talking to media persons in New Delhi today, Hooda said that wrestling is the oldest sport and had been part of Olympic Games from the very beginning. Wrestling is popular not only in Haryana, but in other states of the country also.

Hooda said the decision of IOC to retain wrestling in the list of core sports is a welcome decision. This has boosted the morale of the wrestlers throughout the country. “I am sure, this decision will encourage them for better performance and they will bring laurels to the country by winning more medals in wrestling”, he said.
