HDFC Bank organises employee sports competition Josh Unlimited 2018 in Bengaluru

HDFC Bank today organised its national employee sports competition Josh Unlimited in Bengaluru. The employee engagement initiative was inaugurated by chief guest Mr. Raghvendrarao Vijay Bharadwaj (fifth from right), former cricketer and Mr. Jorge D’costa (sixth from right), Circle Head, Karnataka, HDFC Bank in the presence of other senior bank officials as well as participants.

One of the largest employee events of its kind by any corporate in India

Bengaluru (Karnataka), December 9, 2018: HDFC Bank Ltd., today organised the 7th edition of its annual sports competition for employees of Bengaluru region. Known as Josh Unlimited, this event is the flagship employee engagement initiative which the Bank undertakes to promote fitness and overall well-being among its employees through sports. It was launched in Srinagar in September and will be rolled out in over 35 cities across India in the coming months.

This is one of the largest internal sports events for employees organised by a corporate in the country. It is a platform for the Bank employees to compete in 10 sporting disciplines such as cricket, football, badminton, athletics, carom, chess, volleyball, lagori, kho-kho, and table tennis. Last year, more than 17,000 employees participated in the competition held at 29 locations over a period of five months.

In Bengaluru, the event was held at Garden City Colony, Virgonagar at Old Madras Road. Over 820 employees and their families participated from Bengaluru as well as neighbouring towns such as Ramnagara, Chandapura, Tumkur, Bhatramarenahalli, Hoskote and Narasapura. The event also saw enthusiastic support from families of the employees.

The Bengaluru edition of Josh Unlimited 2018 was inaugurated by chief guest Mr. Raghvendrarao Vijay Bharadwaj, Former Indian Cricketer, he has represented the Indian cricket team as well as the Karnataka Ranji team and Mr. Jorge D’costa, Circle Head, Karnataka, HDFC Bank in the presence of other senior bank officials as well as participants.

Mr. Jorge D’costa, Circle Head, Karnataka, HDFC Bank said, “Our employees are our greatest strength. Sports plays a big role in their overall health and well-being, which is of utmost importance to us. I am happy that we have this excellent platform at HDFC Bank, which gives the employees in the Bengaluru region the opportunity to not just compete but also build team spirit and camaraderie.”

We have had tremendous participation over the years and continue to increase the number of locations every year. Through this event, employees working at different branches and locations in Bengaluru come together for a day of friendly competition.”
