HDHI organised Cardiac & Neurology Check up Camp at Bathinda

Ludhiana, August 3, 2014: Free Medical facility provided to the poor patients through a Cardiac & Neurology Check up Camp organised by Dayanand Medical College & Hospital – Unit Hero DMC Heart Institute in association with Jal Sewa Samiti in Bathinda. Dr.Shibba Takkar DM Cardiologist ( HDHI) & Dr.Monika Singla DM Neurologist (DMCH) & their team was present at the camp to provide free consultation to the patients.
There are so many remote area's in Punjab which still lacks good medical facility & free Health Check up camps are very good means to help the poor patients by providing healthcare services at their door step. Most of the patients were found to have cardiac problem out of which 60% can be reversible with proper medication & diet for which awareness is very critical part. "Health is not valued till sickness comes. And prevention is always better than Cure", said Dr.Monika Singla, DM, Neurologist DMCH. Media can play a vital role in informing the general public about the preventive measures for common diseases. The risk factors involved in these diseases are modifiable and can be best controlled by education and awareness.
More than 450 Patients were benefited in the camp with free Medical Facilities like ECG, Blood Sugar &Medicines. For major illness the patients are referred to the hospital. DMCH & Unit Hero DMC Heart Institute conduct regular camps on frequent intervals especially for poor patients who ignore health due to lack of financial sources.
