Healthy millets recipe competition at Home Science College
A wide range of recipes were prepared by the students
Chandigarh: To promote ‘Self- Reliance through Health and Entrepreneurship’ and to observe the “Year of Millets”, Government Home Science College in collaboration with Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED), organized a healthy millet recipe competition on behalf of the National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. More than 30 post graduate and under graduate students participated in the competition. Sh. SK Mehta from Food Processing Institute, Food and Nutrition Board and Principal, Prof. Sudha Katyal were the esteemed judges for the event.
A wide range of recipes ranging from jowar pockets to ragi dhokla and ragi chocolate lava cake were prepared by the students. Prizes were awarded for best recipes and best innovation.
Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, motivated the students to observe this year as the “Year of Millets” in sync with the initiatives of the government and congratulated them for their enthusiasm in participating in the event and further encouraged them to opt for healthy options in the diet by replacing the refined flours with nutrient rich counterparts of wheat and rice./(Feb 26)
