Heritage Walk held for awareness of first-time voters in PAU
More than 500 college students participated in the Heritage Walk aimed to encourage first-time voters to exercise their right to franchise at Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program of the Election Commission of India
Ludhiana: May 29, 2024: More than 500 college students participated in the Heritage Walk aimed to encourage first-time voters to exercise their right to franchise at Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program of the Election Commission of India
The aim was to educate young participants to learn about the rich cultural heritage of Punjab along with the vital message of their voting rights, creating an immersive and educational experience for all attendees.
This event was flagged off by Vice Chancellor PAU Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal along with Police Observer Satish Kumar Gajbhiye, IPS, PAU Registrar Rishi Pal Singh, ADC (G) Major Amit Sareen, Former Additional Advocate General Harpreet Sandhu.
Police Observer Satish Kumar Gajbhiye urged the young voters to actively participate in Lok Sabha elections and encouraged them to exercise their right to franchise on June 1 without any fear or greed.
Vice Chancellor PAU Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal also emphasized the need for participation of all eligible voters in the elections to uphold the democratic values and urged the youth to exercise their right to franchise. During the heritage walk, young voters were also administered an oath for ethical voting.
ADC (G) Major Amit Sareen also encouraged the first time voters to exercise their right.
