Hero Electric announces first edition of ‘Super Sikh Run’ in Chandigarh
Joining hands with Super Sikh Run to organise 5 km, 10 km, and half marathon to promote healthy living
Chandigarh, November 17, 2021: Hero Electric, India’s leading Electric two-wheeler brand, announced the first edition of ‘Super Sikh Run’ in Chandigarh today. The run is Sewa inspired and organised in collaboration with Super Sikh Foundation. Furthermore, the run encourages the transition and adoption of green mobility and supports its mission of ‘No Emission’. The Chandigarh chapter of the run is designed to inspire the spirit of running a marathon among participants and pay homage to the athletic legends Milkha Singh, India’s most prolific runner and Man Kaur- the centenarian runner. The Chandigarh run will be flagged off on November 21, 2021, from Chandigarh Club at 5 AM .Three runs - 21 Kms , 11Kms and 5 Kms with 1000 participants .
The first edition of Super Sikh Run Chandigarh was announced in presence of Sardar Fauja Singh, British Sikh supercentenarian and retired Marathon runner; Major D.P. Singh, Kargil war veteran, India’s first Blade runner and Asia’s first disabled solo skydiver. Hero Electric also unveiled Optima E5, the award prize for the male and female winners of the half marathon. Moreover, Sardar Fauja Singh unveiled the race day T-shirt and medal inspired by the late Milkha Singh.
Speaking at the conference, Naveen Munjal, Managing Director, Hero Electric, said, “Hero is delighted to bring the Chandigarh’s first edition of Super Sikh Run with Super Sikh family. We are in our fifth year association with Super Sikh Run reinitiating our vision of working towards the good of society and uplifting the human spirit. The marathon supports the idea of the Super Sikh Run and promotes fitness amongst people of all ages. Earlier this year we, lost two of the biggest legends in the running fraternity the state has produced, and this run is dedicated to them. The first edition in the city is planned to reinforce the excitement of running to bring India one step closer to living a healthy and sustainable life.”
Furthermore, Hero Electric unveiled the green helmet re-emphasising its ‘#CodeGreen’ initiative to highlight the importance of electric mobility and sustainable transportation to curb pollution. It also celebrates Hero customers to create ‘Eco Heroes’ by handing over a special green helmet intending to use them as brand ambassadors to promote the green drive. This association with Super Sikh Run will be seeing Hero Electric extending the program in India’s greenest city - Chandigarh.
