Ferozepur, November 11, 2014: After winning the gold medal at state level games held at Patiala, a heroic welcome was given to Mohit Kumar, resident of Police Lines, Ferozepur by Er DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur this morning.
Er Kharbanda said that Mohit Kumar has brought laurels for this border area by winning Gold Medal in state-level games. He said that his achievement shall not only cement faith of other sportspersons who feel shy to choose sports as a career but also it will encourage them to shun away from menace of drugs. He said not only this, Mohit have also secured Silver Medal in Punjab Open Games held at Sangrur and Bronze Medal at North Zone National, held at Lukhnow.
The Deputy Commissioner also honoured Mohit Kumar by giving him a cheque of Rs.5,000. He said that administration shall admire the achievements attained by the sportspersons of this border region.
Mohit Kumar dedicated his victory to his family and sportspersons of the entire region on this occasion.
Ashok Behal, Secretary, Red Cross, and family members of Mohit Kumar were also present on this occasion.
