The theory of opposition alliance appears to be waning, paving the way for multi-corner contests in the upcoming 2024 Parliament Elections. A divided opposition, with parties contesting on individual symbols, could lead to a historic victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The Bharatiya Janata Party recently convened a two-day National Council meeting in Delhi on February 17 and 18, 2024. Approximately 11,500 party delegates attended the event, discussing issues related to the 2024 Parliament Elections and formulating future strategies to fortify the organizational structure.
During his address to the delegates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the BJP winning 370 seats, attributing this success to the party's commitment to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's vision of abolishing Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir. He emphasized the unity of the BJP and its focus on social policies that benefit all sections of society. Modi encouraged party workers to vigorously promote his future guarantees for a resounding victory in the upcoming elections.
National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, J.P. Nadda, highlighted the achievements of the Modi government over the past decade, specifically mentioning the Women's Reservation Bill and the construction of the Ram Mandir. He pointed out the significant increase in the party's vote bank, especially in West Bengal, and outlined various public welfare schemes implemented by the government. Nadda urged party members with a slogan, "Ab Ki Baar N.D.A. 400 Par," envisioning a majority government.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed confidence in the BJP retaining power for the third successive term, foreseeing India as a developed country by 2047. He underscored the government's unwavering commitment to national security.
