Chandigarh, July 16, 2024: The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, organised a highly insightful workshop titled "From Search to Discovery: Innovative Teaching and Research Skills for Teachers and Research Scholars”.
The event commenced with an inaugural session where Prof. Monika Aggarwal, Director of UIAMS, and Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, the workshop coordinator, welcome the esteemed speakers with tokens of appreciation. Our renowned speakers Prof. Vipin Gupta and Prof. Gurdip Singh Batra led the sessions, emphasizing the importance of adopting advanced teaching and research methodologies. Prof. Vipin Gupta, Co-Director of the Center for Global Management at Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration, California State University, USA, and an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, shed light on how metaphysics helps us to understand the basics of reality, which is important for research and teaching because it shapes how we think and learn about the world.
Prof. Gurdip Singh Batra, Dean of Academic Affairs and Head of the School of Business Management and Commerce at Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, highlighted the importance of publishing research paper in reputed journals, provide valuable strategies on how to navigate the ‘publish or perish’ landscapes. Their combined expertise underscored the pressing need for educators and researchers to embrace innovative practices to stay ahead in their respective fields, ensuring the workshop's success in promoting academic excellence and progressive thinking. The event attended by research scholars from different departments of Panjab University. Kanika, Mona, and Parneet Kaur, Junior Research Fellow, UIAMS coordinated the workshop.
