Hilarious Drama Andher Nagari, Chaupat Raja staged on Day-3 of Theater Festival in Bathinda
Bathinda, October 3, 2021: On the third day of the 15-day 10th National Theater Festival being organized by Natyam, Bathinda at Balwant Gargi Open Air Theater, a hilarious drama Andher Nagari, Chaupat Raja, written by Bharatendu Harishchandra, directed by Shushrut Gupta, and led by senior artist Prem Gupta was staged by Children Theater Academy, Bhopal. With its wide satire over the failure of a king to run the administration, the play made the audience to laugh so much. Sharing the details and significance, Prem Gupta said that it is India's first Hindi play, which was written in 1881 and was being presented on the same day. With its concept and storyline about the administrative failures, this play is equally meaningful even today, shared Gupta.
Talking about the ongoing theater festival, Natyam's director Kirti Kripal and Chairman Dr. Kashish Gupta said that comedy plays have also been included especially to entertain the audience maximum; one of them was Andher Nagri, Chaupat Raja. They further said the audience will get to see the classy dramas presented by different teams from across the country every evening till October 14. During the play, social worker Vikas Grover, Dr. Ravindra Kamboj, and Ravindra Sharma from North Zone Cultural Center Patiala were among the present.
