Dharamsala, September 18, 2013: The Tourism Society at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) will celebrate the tourism week from September 20 to 27 based on the theme – `Tourism and Water: Protecting our Common Future’.
Word Tourism Day is celebrated annually on 27th September to create awareness among the international community about the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value.
As part of the tourism week celebrations at CUHP, Tourism Society will organise different competitions and awareness programmes. The celebration will kick off on September 20 with the inaugural function to be held at the Temporary Academic Block (TAB) at Shahpur (Dharamsala ). Collage making competition, Photo Caption competition and Rangoli competition will be organised for students on that day.
Focusing on the theme Tourism and Water, a cleanliness drive will be carried out on September 21. Tree planting drive and declamation competition will be held on September 23 while a workshop on Home-Stay Schemes in HP will be conducted on September 24. The Himachal Inter School Quiz Competition also will be held at TAB on the same day.
An inter college national tourism quiz competition will be held on September 25. The week long celebrations will conclude with ‘Atithi Samman’ to be held on September 27 at the TAB campus.
