Himachal reeling under shivering cold
Snow in Kufri-Manali; Bad weather to continue till Jan 15
Dharamshala: The entire Himachal state experiencing rain and snow for the past two days. Weather office of the state said that in is all due to latest Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Afghanistan & neighbourhood persists and now seen at 3.1 km above mean sea level. It brought sudden drop down of the temperature with Lowest temperature recorded at Keylong as minus7.0 degree Celsius Kufri and Kalpa recorded minus 3.4 degree Celsius and Manali minus 1.6 degree Celsius, highest temperature was recorded at Berthin 16.0 degree Celsius clearly indicating the shivering conditions of Himachal.
Meteorological centre of the state issued warning for Wednesday with the prediction of Thunderstorm accompanied with hail & lighting at in many places and Heavy Rainfall/snowfall likely at isolated places.
Maximum Snowfall recoded in the state in past 24 hours, was at Kothi-45cm followed by Kufri-20, Khadrala-18, Dalhousie, Kalpa and Keylong-15, Shimla-14, Pooh-10, Gondla & Manali-8cm each, Theog-7, Sarahan and Udaipur-7cm each
Whereas Jhandutta recoded 30 MM of rain followed by Ghumarwin-25, Wangtoo-23, Baldwara & Jubbal-22 each, Seobagh-19, Rampur & Sarkaghat-18 each, Bhuntar, Pachhad & Kandaghat-17 each, Bharari, Bhoranj, Gohar & Rohru, Sangrah & Jubbar Hatti-16 each, Banjar, Arki &
Palampur-14 each, Bijahi, Aghar, Karsog, Sundernagar & Dharamshala-13 each, Naina Devi, Mandi, Solan & Berthin-12 mm each.
Meteorological centre also predicted wet and cold weather till 15th of this month with slight dry interval on 9th and 10th January./Arvind Sharma
