HMV conducts online training on menstrual health and hygiene for science stream

Jalandhar, January 19, 2022: The Department of Student Welfare of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organised an online training session on Menstrual Health and Hygiene for the students and faculty of Sciences, under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. This session was organized in collaboration with UNICHARM INDIA, a leading Japanese firm in India and its training partner, Global Hunt Foundation based at Bengaluru. The Resource Person for the Session was Mrs. Nitya Chaudhary, CSR Executive, UNICHARM INDIA was accorded warm welcome by Dr. Neelam Sharma, Session Coordinator & Faculty Incharge Science and by Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Dean Student Welfare. Dr. Neelam Sharma said onset of Menstruation means new phase in the life of girls which restricts their mobility and personal choices and such awareness program can help them overcome obstacles. Mrs. Nitya Chaudhary gave a detailed insight into what, when why and how of menstrual phase to make students aware of hygiene practices to be adopted during periods. The training session was followed by interactive question answer session. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen congratulated for the conduct of the session and said such programs aware students to protect dignity, build self confidence, shed taboos and strengthen mental health too. Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Dean Student Welfare told 100 participants were benefited from the session. On this occasion Mrs. Deepshikha, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dr. Shaveta Chouhan, Mrs Ramandeep and Mrs. Simmi Garg were also present.
