Jalandhar, December 10, 2014: Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya selected for 2-day Skill Development Workshop of Ministry of Human Resource Development. Dr Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj, Principal was invited to attend workshop on ‘Skills in Higher Education’ organised by Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 6th and 7th December. HMV is the only college from Jalandhar Zone among the colleges selected by MHRD to participate in the workshop as it is running both Community College and B.Vocational Course. The workshop was attended by Educational Secretaries of all states, Vice Chancellors of Universities and Principals of selected colleges. The objective of the workshop was to elicit and incorporate the views of heads of institutes of higher learning to draft and implement a policy framework for skill development in higher education. Cabinet Minister of Ministry of HRD Smriti Irani motivated all the participants to come forward and shoulder the responsibility to make India a hub for skilled manpower. The workshop was also attended by Dr.Kanwaldeep Kaur, Coordinator of B.Vocational Course.
