Ludhiana, November 8, 2012: Dr. Sumita Sofat, one of the renowned infertility experts in North India has attained another milestone by achieving “Zee Punjabi Anhad Sanman” from Zee Punjabi for her exemplary contribution to the field of Medical Science as an IVF scientist.

This award is an honour to distinguished individuals, who are recognized as icons of inspiration in their respective fields in the state of Punjab.

The event “Zee Punjabi Anhad Sanman” was held on November 6 and the award was handed over by Chief Minister, Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal,where alongwith Dr. Sumita Sofat many other distinguished personalities graced the occasion and received their award.

Dr. Sumita Sofat has done M.B.B.S. from Government Medical College, Patiala then she completed her M.D. from DMC, Ludhiana. She had only one mission in her life i.e. to help infertile couples in becoming pregnant. She believes that every couple have right to has children. She is having very efficient and experienced panel of doctors with her who are always ready to help her fulfill her mission to give happiness to all the infertile patients.

Interacting with the media persons, Dr. Sumita Sofat said that she is really honoured to achieve this award and she will be working throughout her life for the betterment of mankind.

Apart from this award Dr. Sumita Sofat has achieved numerous awards on national and International stage.

According to Dr. Sofat, Director, Sofat Infertility & Women Care Centre, “Infertility is more prevalent in our society than we think.It affects one in every six couples on an average. We are of the opinion that every couple who comes to us with a lot of expectation should be blessed with a child. And our success rates are at par with the global and national levels. For us they are healthy babies but for the parents they are a divine gift from God. We understand their emotions and the social stigma that they go through in their long years of marriage without a child, fraught with difficult medical problems. We are delighted to facilitate their journey from a state of helplessness to the bliss of parenthood.”
