Hope upcoming Smart City Ludhiana shall have long term

Ludhiana, November 8, 2019: Today, the world is celebrating the World Town Planning Day (WTPD), an international day for celebrating the accomplishments of town planners and their contributions to communities. It is celebrated worldwide on 8th November every year.
Architect Sanjay Goel, Director Ludhiana Smart City Limited and Chairman of Indian Institutes of Architects - Punjab Chapter congratulated all planners and architects on this great day and shared his experience with young architects and students.
POLIS 2k19 is an initiative undertaken by young Urban Planners to indulge in activity-based learning process and to celebrate World Town Planning Day.
The World Town Planning Day was celebrated with a series of lectures by eminent and experienced professionals working closely in the field of planning namely Ar. Sanjay Goel delivered the lecture on the topic of Status of Smart Metropolitan Cities and enlightened the students and architects on the issues related with the smart cities of India. Mr. Adradram Sankhyan delivered the lecture on the topic of Model village plan – key to sustainable development and inspired to adopt sustainable practices and Mr. Tej Karki enlightened on the topic of – our Earth is sinking and highlighted environmental issues related to India and abroad. Ar. Nagendera Narayan delivered the lecture on the topic of Smart Villages – need of 21st Century to the students of Planning Department.
“We architects and planners have to put efforts to find ways in making the cities safer and habitable for the all”, said Ar Sanjay Goel, adding, “This can be done through innovative policies and new design solutions. Our designs and planning have an essential role in enhancing the quality of life for everyone. This day is to celebrate how we shape our world and make it a place where we want to live, work and play together.”
