HORRIBLE: Woman sustain injuries after she resisted assault

Ludhiana, December 21, 2012: A local married woman has alleged that unidentified youths assaulted on her with intent to outrage her modesty.

When she resisted, the youths allegedly injured in stone throwing following which she sustained injuries.

The woman has been undergoing treatment in a local private hospital.

On being contact this evening, the Ludhiana government railway police (GRP) station SHO Gurnam Singh confirmed the incident.

Singh told that they had already registered a case under various sections of the IPC, including 354 IPC (assault or criminal force to a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) against unidentified persons.

He told that the complainant Shivani, a married woman, had alleged that she alongwith her husband was on her way last evening. On the way, the youths assaulted her with the intent to outrage her modesty, the complainant alleged. She said when she and her husband resisted, the accused throw stones on her following which she sustained injuries.

Shivani was admitted into a private hospital after the incident.

SHO told that further police investigations were on.

Shivani and her husband are basically from Gaya in Bihar. They are staying in Lakshmi Nagar area here. As per available information, the couple is working in a hosiery factory in the Salem Tabri area. The alleged incident occurred late last evening when they were on return to their home after the duty hours. The unidentified three youths stopped them and assaulted to outrage Shivani’s modesty.

When the couple resisted, the youths throw stones after collecting them from nearby railway track.  Shivani sustained head injuries in the alleged assault and fell on the ground. Somebody reported the matter to the police. Initially, she was rushed to Civil Hospital.

Seeing her serious condition, she was referred to a local private hospital.
