Horticulture Division of Panjab University celebrates world environment day
Plant 15 bougainvillea, 20 neem and various other plants
Chandigarh: The Horticulture Division of Panjab University today celebrated World Environment Day by planting 15 bougainvillea, 20 neem and various other plants like peepal, pilkhan, papita, banana etc. at different places of Panjab University.
Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor presided over the plantations. Prof. V. K. Sinha, Dean Research; Prof. S. K. Tomar, Dean Student Welfare; Prof. Sukhbir Kaur, Dean Student Welfare (W); Prof. Ashwani Koul, Chief of University Security and Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Dean College Development Council were also present.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Horticulture Division the way they have worked during the lockdown period to maintain cleanliness and greenery in the campus. He further said that Panjab University has set an example in the tricity for others to follow and encouraged the departments of Panjab University to plant at least one plant in their department.
Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (H), Panjab University said that conservation of environment is very important and Horticulture Division is making its best efforts for the same.
