The Horticulture Division of Panjab University today organised a plantation, in collaboration with Deptt. of Nano Science, near Deptt. of Nano Science, South Campus.

Chandigarh, July 16, 2022: The Horticulture Division of Panjab University today organised a plantation, in collaboration with Deptt. of Nano Science, near Deptt. of Nano Science, South Campus. Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University was the Chief Guest at the plantation. Prof. Kashmir Singh, Secretary to Vice Chancellor; Prof. Jagtar Singh, Dean Student Welfare; Dr. Jadab Sharma, Deptt. of Nano Science were among the other attendees.

The event saw huge participation of the faculty and students of Deptt. of Nano Science and NCC and NSS volunteers. About 50 trees and plants including neem, gulmohar, chandni etc. were planted on the occasion.

Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor encouraged the students to participate in such plantations and adopt the trees planted by them. He further said that the plants will continue to adorn the landscape of the university even after they leave the university and they will be very delighted to see the plants in full blossom whenever they would get a chance to visit the university in future.

Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (H) apprised those present that the Horticulture Division, Panjab University has planned many more plantations like this in the monsoon season to make the campus cleaner and greener.
