The conference, graced by esteemed dignitaries during its inaugural session, marks a significant milestone in the quest to revolutionize diagnostic methodologies and enhance patient care across the healthcare landscape.
Dr Om P Manchanda, Conference Chairman & Chairman, CII NR Committee on Diagnostics & Technology and Managing Director, Dr Lal PathLabs Limited emphasized that there is an immense amount of knowledge on AI present today, and we see that there is a huge opportunity for its applicability to diagnostics.
Arpan Malhotra, Co-Chairman, CII NR Committee on Diagnostics & Technology and Director & Chief Operating Officer, Max Lab Limited noted that by around 2030+, India will add over 50 million people aged above 60 years. That’s like adding entire Canada of aged people. Besides, testing per person at India is currently less than one-fourth of that done by other comparable developing countries.
Pankaj Johri, Director and Head - Operations (Medical), National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) highlighted that accreditation can be an important aspect in demonstrating quality and developing confidence of patients in test results produced.
Suhel Bidani, Lead - Digital Platform, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation India stressed that diagnostic labs are best placed to offer personal health lockers to their customers and subsequently making use of analytics and AI, thus providing personalised preventive care options to the users.
