Hundreds participate in race for Unity at the 14th CT Half Marathon
Rohit Dhaiya in the male category & Arpita in the female category wins the 14th CT Half Marathon.
Jalandhar, March 12, 2023: The 14TH CT Half Marathon, a landmark event by CT Group brought
hundreds of marathon runners together brimming with enthusiasm and honor. Runners were ready
to run passionately to aid charitable causes with their dedicated efforts. The marathon received
participants from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, and other states
pacing for the noble cause.
The Marathon was flagged off by renowned singer, Ravneet Singh, and the most distinguished
Marathon Runner, Shri Fauja Singh at CT Shahpur Campus. There was a varied array of participants-
students, teachers, sports personalities, Olympians, artists, people with disabilities, etc.
under the male category, Rohit Dhaiya with chest number 0210, and Amit khanduri with chest
number 0208 stood second, and third Mahesh Kumar chest number 0197respectively.Under the
women's category, Arpita with chest number 0277 bagged first, Vineeta gujjar chest number 0254
second and and third Renu Rani chest number 0212 positions respectively.
One of the many attractions of the marathon was the huge sum of cash prizes for the winners. The
first prize was Rs. 25,000 (Male & Female both), the second prize was Rs.11000 (Male & Female
both), the third prize was Rs. 5,100 (Male & Female both), and 7 consolation prizes of Rs. 2100.
The event turned brighter and better because of the LIVE performances by leading Punjabi stars
Khan Saab, KulbirJhinjar, Manpreet Singh, Gurnam Bhullar, and Actress Sargun Mehta at CT
Maqsudan Campus. RJ Vikas and RJ Garry from My FM entertained the audience with their cheerful
hosting and performances. Also, there were dance performances by The Parindey team as well
as by the students of CT Group.
Managing Director, of CT Group of Institutions, Dr.Manbir Singh, said that the raised funds will be
duly donated to the Prayas School, Pingalwara, and Red Cross Society. He said, “This monumental
event from the last thirteen years has helped us reach various milestones of fundraising for the
deprived and needy at the same time the event brings us all together as a united front.”
Chairman, of CT Group of Institutions, Shri Charanjit Singh Channi, congratulated the winners and
expressed gratitude towards everyone who had voluntarily helped in pushing the event to another
level of success and grandeur.
Keeping various emergencies in mind, CT Group also managed and arranged first aid and other
medical assistance for the runners. Volunteers were students and staff members of the CT Institute
of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) and doctors from renowned hospitals.
