Chandigarh, December 18: BJP led MC efforts to cover up its misdeeds in hush-hush manner came to fore at Dadumajra dumping ground on Saturday when Congress leaders reached there to address a press conference.
Randeep Singh Surjewala, General Secretary, AICC and Pawan Kumar Bansal, Treasurer-AICC & former Union Minister along with other leaders reached at ground at 2 pm only to find MC workers putting up saplings along ground’s boundary wall in haste manner in an efforts to put up greenery around stinking piles of garbage.
The act was in such haste that polythene wrap of saplings were not removed and some were not even placed properly in the holes which were too dug up hurriedly to give some presentable look to ground’s outer wall.
Rajiv Sharma, the spokesperson of Chandigarh Congress said that the frustration of the BJP came to fore when they desperately but unsuccessfully tried to hide their shame at their collosal failure that led to the mountain of garbage. They employed hundreds of Municipal workers and BJP workers to plant saplings across the boundary wall of the dumping site where the Congress having it's media interaction. But their crude attempts at some damage control only made them a laughing stock of the people of Chandigarh.”
