Taking a 20-year leap, COLORS' 'Udaariyaan' has captivated its audience with an enthralling story of love and the stunning performances of its new cast, Alisha Parveen as Alia, Anuraj Chahal as Armaan, and Aditi Bhagat as Aasmaa. Alia is the beloved daughter of Nehmat and Ekam, a rebellious soul who considers Nehmat her greatest adversary. She believes that Nehmat drove her mother away and selfishly took her father, mistaking Harleen for her real mother. Armaan is a 25-years old high-spirited guy, who holds a special place in Alia’s heart, and believes there’s nothing a jugaad can’t fix. On the other hand, Harleen's biological daughter, Aasmaa, is a dreamer raised in Canada but carries a profound love for India in her heart. As fate would have it, the lives of Alia, Armaan, and Aasmaa intertwine in unexpected ways. How will Alia, Armaan, and Aasmaa’s paths cross? What will be their ‘Udaariyaan’?

1.       How will the story proceed after the leap of 20 years in COLORS’ ‘Udaariyaan’?

A.      Viewers have showered COLORS' 'Udaariyaan' with love and its loyal fan base has only grown after two leaps that captured the story of two generations.  Now, with an intriguing storyline and a leap of 20 years, the show features Alia, Nehmat, and Ekam’s daughter, Armaan, who is in love with Alia and Aasmaa, Harleen’s daughter. The show will trace a new chapter where Alia, Armaan, and Aasmaa's lives will intertwine and take unpredictable turns in the pursuit of their dreams.

2.      Tell us something about your character.

A.      The role I’m essaying is that of Alia, the beloved daughter of Nehmat and Ekam. Despite being the apple of her parents’ eyes, she thinks of Nehmat, her mother, as her greatest foe. Harleen's influence fuels Alia's intense hatred towards Nehmat, as she continuously poisons her mind against Nehmat. After Harleen's relentless brainwashing, Alia believes that the solution to all her problems lies in moving to Canada, the land of her dreams. Her yearning for a new beginning in Canada becomes her driving force.

3.      Why did you say yes to this show?

A.      Udaariyaan is so much more than a show. It has established a legacy, and I consider myself fortunate to carry it forward. With its two-year journey, incredible production team, and creative content, being part of this show is a dream come true. I am genuinely blessed and immensely grateful for this opportunity.

4.      How have you been preparing for your character?

A.      Watching the previous episodes of COLORS' 'Udaariyaan' has been immensely beneficial, as it provided valuable insights into my character's expectations. Attending workshops has enhanced my understanding of the show's concept. I feel well-prepared and excited to give my best on this journey.

5.      COLORS’ ‘Udaariyaan’ is your first show as a lead actor, what do you feel about it?

A.      I am absolutely delighted about the fact that COLORS' Udaariyaan marks my debut as a lead actor! It was my mother’s dream to see me in a lead role. She had tears in her eyes when she got to learn about my association as a lead in Udaariyaan. It is all because of her blessings that I got this opportunity. It is her pure love and her struggles more than mine. It's an incredible opportunity, and I cannot express how grateful I am to be part of this wonderful show.

6.      Since COLORS’ ‘Udaariyaan’ has its set in Chandigarh, how does it feel to work here?

A.      The charm of Chandigarh gives it a distinctive allure and carefree vibe. Working on the sets of COLORS' 'Udaariyaan' is a lot of fun. In my leisure moments, I enjoy discovering Chandigarh's culinary treasures and its unique spots. I was born in Kolkata but brought up in Delhi, therefore, I have a connection with Punjab and its culture. I used to wear Punjabi outfits in Delhi as well. Moreover, I have always found Punjabi food lip smacking. The warm and hospitable nature of its people touches my heart. I’m grateful to have the chance to explore this city and I am also working on my Punjabi with the help of my co-actor Anuraj.

7.      How is the experience of working with your co-actors so far?

A.      Working alongside my co-actors on Udaariyaan has been an absolute delight, and I am sure it will remain so. We three share a great bond and I want our friendship to last long. The entire cast was remarkably supportive and there’s a lot to learn from everyone. I look forward to creating wonderful memories with my co-actors on the sets.

8.      How does it feel to be associated with COLORS and Dreamiyata Entertainment?

A.       COLORS has been the most sought-after destination for entertainment that has something for everyone with its diverse content slate. I have long been an admirer of the remarkable work of Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta, who have contributed to Indian television with their exceptional concepts. Their talent and dedication to their craft have set a high standard in the industry. Being given the opportunity to collaborate with COLORS and Dreamiyata Entertainment on a show as special as Udaariyaan is surreal. I want to thank them for trusting me with Alia’s character. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and win the audience's hearts.

9.      COLORS’ ‘Udaariyaan’ has been a hit show since its start, is there any pressure to take the legacy ahead?

I don’t see it as pressure, I think it’s my responsibility. It is exciting and I wish that we get the same amount of love that previous seasons had received. The success of the show since its inception is a testament to the incredible storytelling, the dedication of the production team, and the immense love and support of the audience. It will be an honour for me to take the legacy of the show ahead.

10.    Any message for your fans?

A.      I would like to say to my fans that I’m excited to meet them through this show. I hope they embrace the portrayal of my character and find the inspiration to pursue their dreams. I want to thank the audience for showering their love on me and I will spare no effort to meet the expectations. I just wish that this season gets the same love from the audience as Season 1 and 2. I feel so blessed, happy, excited, and a bit nervous to be a part of this show.
