Four Institutes at the School’s Mohali campus grooming leaders to drive growth in these vital sectors
The Indian School of Business (ISB) saw around 100 professionals across healthcare, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors graduate in the first combined graduation ceremony of Long Duration Programmes (LDP) at its Mohali campus today. Chief Guest of the ceremony Sh.V.P.Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab handed over the certificates to the students. Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman Mohali campus Advisory Board and Rajendra Srivastava Dean ISB were also present at the occasion.

Addressing the graduation students, chief guest for the day Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore said, “India is growing at a rapid pace and you all have to be multidisciplinary in your approach. Healthcare, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Public Policy are sectors crucial to the growth of the economy. They need leaders who have the talent, skills and the ability to drive growth in their organizations, which, in turn will accelerate the progress of our economy. I look forward to collaborating with the school’s thought leaders on how to help us in better governance and administration of Punjab and Chandigarh”.

He also said it is not the beautiful brick and mortar that makes an educational institute; it’s the faculty, the placement, the alumni and what they can payback or give back to the country or the institute through their learnings. He spoke about his journey from the corporate world to politics

The Long Duration Programmes are provided by the specialised Centres at ISB in the areas of Public Policy, Infrastructure Management, Healthcare Management and Manufacturing breaking away from the traditional management programme.

Speaking on the significance of these programmes, Professor Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, ISB, said, “This graduation marks an important milestone in ISB’s aspirations to contribute to the sustainable and inclusive growth of the country. The institutes at ISB represent the essence of our approach of offering cutting edge, education and research that can make an impact of scholarship, practice and policy. The Long duration Programmes are an effort towards grooming leaders who will drive the growth in their organisations and influence the way businesses are run in the future”.

The Long Duration programmes at ISB were started with a vision of creating experts and leaders in the four sectors that have a crucial role in the growth of the Indian economy. ISB brings together professionals from both public and private sector on a single platform facilitating exchange of knowledge and best practices between professionals from diverse sectors. The one year programmes are taught via a unique hybrid model involving intensive classroom sessions spread over a year, interspersed with online interaction and group work – first of its kind in India. Participants in these programmes are mid to senior level executives from leading and emerging companies across the country and entrepreneurs from various sectors. The modular residency format facilitates acquisition of knowledge and skill-sets without requiring students to take a break from their regular jobs.

The four institutes based at the ISB’s Mohali campus work closely with the industry, government and academia in identifying and working on issues in key sectors that will have an impact on policy making in this country
