Sultanpur, June 24 (HS): On Saturday, fighter planes from the Indian Air Force touched down on the Purvanchal Expressway airfield as part of an emergency exercise involving civil and military officials. "Three Mirage fighter jets have so far touched down on the expressway airstrip," authorities reported. Earlier in the day, Indian Air Force personnel performed a pre-flight check of the Sultanpur airfield as part of routine training for civil and military authorities. "Aircraft operations over the Purvanchal expressway will take place as part of regular training and to increase cohesion between civil and military functionaries," stated Defence PRO. The exercise is expected to include a variety of aircraft types, including fighters, transports, and helicopters, according to the Defence PRO. More information is forthcoming.
