Ludhiana: Foods and other substances microencapsulated exhibit wide applicability, being an effective and extremely important tool in the preservation of various nutritional components, microorganisms, enzymes, dyes, etc., protecting food and other products from the most aggressive processing methods. ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana has developed technology of “Apparatus for production of microcapsules”. Microencapsulation paves way for development innovative functional foods. Microencapsulation is progressively attracting the interest of food ingredient manufacturers as a way of achieving much-needed differentiation and enhancing product value. With the growing urbanization and increasing quality consciousness the market for processed foods and functional foods is expected to grow more rapidly. The technology was developed by Dr. K.Narsaiah & Dr. H.S. Oberoi.
The technology was transferred through digital mode by Dr. R.K. Singh, Director, CIPHET Ludhiana, to M/s Bio-Age Equipments & Services, Mohali in the presence of Dr. K. Narsaiah & Dr. Ranjeet Singh, I/c ITMU.
