ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana gave licensing of makhana puffs to Arihant International
Ludhiana, August 31, 2024: Extruded snack food is popular due to its convenience, low cost, and variety of flavours and shapes along with easy availability in vending machines, convenience stores, and supermarkets. However most of the expanded snack foods available in the market are made from starchy food grains, that induce the higher expansion and better textural and functional properties but nutritionally poorer in minerals, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. Makhana based products are loaded with various other essential goodness that makes it critically important for health conscious people. ICAR-CIPHET is committed and working consistently to meet the food needs of the nation by developing and promoting health food products and in line with this ICAR-CIPHET has developed makhana based puffs.
Rita Jain, Arihant International, Ludhiana approached for the same. Research team comprises of Dr. Mridula D., Dr. R.K. Vishwakarma & Dr. Guru P.N. Dr. R.K. Vishwakarma & Dr. Guru P.N. imparted the hands on training to the budding women entrepreneur on Saturday.
