ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana hosts elevated gathering to propel skill development in post-harvest technology
Ludhiana, February 2, 2024: ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) orchestrated a high-level meeting with the local administration of Moga to strengthen collaborative initiatives in the realm of post-harvest processing and value addition. Serving as the Chief Guest, Anita Darshi, ADC (D) Moga, highlighted the necessity for customized training modules for their 10,000 Self Help Groups, with the objective of creating awareness and generating employment in the Moga district. In this context, she sought assistance from CIPHET. Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, the Director of CIPHET Ludhiana, emphasized the crucial role of skill development in optimizing post-harvest processes and mitigating agricultural losses. Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Head of ToT Division, underscored the significance of agribusiness incubation in elevating the income of the rural population through enhanced skills. He also gave detailed presentation on agri business activities of the institute. These collaborative endeavours are poised to have a positive impact on the agricultural landscape, exemplifying CIPHET Ludhiana's proactive commitment to advancing post-harvest technology. During the event, the FPO groups from Moga and Fraidkot also actively participated and expressed their interest in participating in the training and skill development programs offered by CIPHET.
