Ludhiana, February 6, 2024: ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana actively participated in the Dissemination Summit-2024 held under the STREE Program. The event was organized by GT Bharat and HDFC Parivartan and took place at Guru Nanak Bhawan in Ludhiana.
The inauguration of the summit saw Chief Guest Agriculture Minister, Punjab, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, alongside distinguished personalities including D.P.S. Kharbanda, DIC Punjab, Dr. Hanuman Jat, Director ICAR-IIMR Ludhiana, and Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Head ToT and PI ABI ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana, ceremonially lighting the lamp to mark the commencement of the event. Agriculture Minister Khuddian emphasized the pivotal role of processing activities in the production catchment by Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) members. The minister highlighted the potential of adopting diverse agricultural practices, asserting that such approaches could lead to a twofold increase in farmers' income, ensuring sustainability and livelihood.
Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Head ToT Division and PI ABI of ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana, showcased pioneering research and technologies aimed at enhancing the role of women in agriculture, post-harvest management, and agri-entrepreneurship. The summit drew an enthusiastic audience, with more than 1000 women FPO members and entrepreneurs from the region in attendance. This significant turnout reinforced the collective efforts towards empowering women in agriculture and fostering sustainable practices.
