ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana showcases innovations at ‘East Regional Agricultural Fare 2024’

Ludhiana, February 7, 2024: ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana, actively participated in the esteemed 'East Regional Agricultural Fare 2024', held at KVK Diyankel Campus, Ranchi (Jharkhand) from February 3 to 5. 

The three-day event, inaugurated by Arjun Munda, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, aimed at sensitizing tribal farmers and entrepreneurs about the latest developments in agriculture and promoting advanced agricultural practices for the holistic development of tribal farming communities. 

ICAR-CIPHET's stall showcased a diverse array of machinery, products, and process protocols developed for the processing and value addition of agricultural produce. The scientists at the stall engaged in fruitful interactions with visitors, including the Minister, where they highlighted the institute's activities and its potential role in fostering sustainable development among tribal farmers through the promotion of on-farm processing and value addition. The institute stall received a remarkable footfall, with over 6000 visitors comprising farmers, entrepreneurs, government officials, and school children. 

Several members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) expressed keen interest in the concept of Agro Processing Centres and indicated their willingness to collaborate with the institute for its establishment.
