ICAR-CIPHET organises Swachhata Pakhwada Cleanliness Campaign

Ludhiana, September 30, 2024: Swachhata Pakhwada Cleanliness Campaign was organized at ICAR- Central Institute of Post-harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana and Abohar campus from 15 September to 2nd October, 2024. Swachhata pledge was taken by all the employees of the institute. All the employees were grouped into different teams to coordinate various activities and sensitize society about the importance of Swachhata. This year it is celebrated under the theme “Saubhav Swachhata Sanskar Swachhata”. 

The team of ICAR-CIPHET employees lead by Er. Shaghaf Kaukab and other team members Satvinder Singh and Rajiv Sharma visited the religious places and organized cleanliness drive for highlighting the activities of Swachhta Hi Sewa by involving religious organizations. This involved cleaning and collecting garbage and segregating them into biodegradable and non-biodegradable followed by proper disposal, cleaning of drainage lines, cooking areas, sewerage and water lines, and creating awareness on solid waste management. During the campaign, group of workers, believers were sensitized about reducing the wastage of food materials and various techniques for converting waste to wealth.
