ICAR-CIPHET to organize national webinar series on its post-harvest technologies
The first webinar in this series would be on “Utilization and Value Addition to Mustard Processing By-products”
Ludhiana, August 25, 2021: The country is celebrating 75 years of its Independence during 15 Aug 2021-15 August 2022 with the theme ‘Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. In commemoration of this theme, ICAR- Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering & Technology, Ludhiana has planned to organize a ‘National Webinar Series on CIPHET-Post-harvest Technologies’ virtually starting from this month. The series of webinar will consist on presentations of technologies developed and promoted by ICAR-CIPHET for reduction of post-harvest losses and value addition to different agricultural produce. The first webinar in this series would be on “Utilization and Value Addition to Mustard Processing By-products” on 27.08.2021 (3 pm). This event will continue in following months covering various topics such Makhana Production and its Mechanized Processing; Protected Agriculture-The Next Generation Agriculture; Plant Based Dairy Analogues: A Healthy Choice; Entrepreneurship through Mechanized Wadi Making; Microencapsulation of Nutraceuticals; Live Fish Carrier System and Fish Cleaning Station; Gluten-Free Bakery Products; and Processing and Value Addition of Fruits for Doubling Farmers Income
It is worth mentioning that the ICAR-CIPHET is one of the premier institute in the country operating under the aegis of ICAR to cater the need of different stakeholders in the field of post-harvest engineering and technology of agricultural and allied crops including fisheries. With more than 30 years of service to the nation, ICAR-CIPHET has developed more than 100 technologies addressing the issues of farmers/ industry and other stakeholders and created entrepreneurship opportunities for number of unemployed youths. Institute has also extended the research consultancy to Food Corporation of India, APEDA, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Food Processing Industries and other similar agencies.
Under the guidance of Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, the Director, ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana, this webinar series is being coordinated by Dr. D.N. Yadav, Pr. Scientist and Mr. Vikas Kumar and Dr. Sandeep Dawange, scientists of Transfer of Technology Division of the institute. One technology per month will be presented/demonstrated online to the stakeholders in the last week of every month up to August, 2022. The details can be seen at ciphet.in.
