ICAR-CIPHET's Agri Business Incubation Centre Sparks Entrepreneurial Spirit in Nashik Entrepreneurs with Corn Processing EDP
Ludhiana, March 7, 2024: ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana hosted a dynamic 3-day Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) from March 4-6, 2024, focusing on 'Processing of Food Grains, spotlighting corn'. Six eager entrepreneurs from Nashik, Maharashtra, dived into engaging discussions with scientists and industry experts, exploring diverse corn processing technologies and value added products such as bakery products, animal feed, corn starch, dextrose etc. They also had the chance to visit ICAR-IIMR and tour top-notch Punjab industries such as Punjab Agro, Ludhiana; Chabra Silage Company, Ludhiana, S Well Engineering, Sangrur; Jagatjit Group, Sunam; and Channy Agro Industries, Phirni., igniting fresh ideas for their ventures. "The technical guidance and support have opened doors to new possibilities," praised Rahul Khairnar, of Indigenous Farm, Nashik, envisioning expansion. Kunal Sawant, representing SMART Project, Govt of Maharashtra, lauded the EDP and urged continued support for future programmes. Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Head ToT & PI ABI along with Dr. Sandeep Dawange coordinated this training and , ensured them ongoing assistance, fueling the growth of agro-food processing businesses focusing corn.
