ICAR Zonal Sports Tournament (North Zone) 2023 continued the 3rd day with great fervor and the excitement among more than 800 participants from 24 institutes representing seven north Indian states. The chilling temperature of Ludhiana could chill their determination when the sports event continued 3rd day at the Sports Complex, PAU Ludhiana organized by ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, January 19, 2024: ICAR Zonal Sports Tournament (North Zone) 2023 continued the 3rd day with great fervor and the excitement among more than 800 participants from 24 institutes representing seven north Indian states. The chilling temperature of Ludhiana could chill their determination when the sports event continued 3rd day at the Sports Complex, PAU Ludhiana organized by ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana.
In Badminton doubles, CIPHET, Ludhiana was the winner, and CIFE, Mumbai was runner-up. CIPHET, Ludhiana grabbed gold and silver in the high jump (women). In the 100m race (women), 1st (Ritu Kukde) was grabbed by CIPHET, Ludhiana and both 2nd and 3rd by CIFE Mumbai. In the 100m race (men), 1st (Naresh) was grabbed by IIWBR, Karnal, 2nd by CIPHET, Ludhiana, and 3rd by CPRI, Shimla. In Chess (women), IISR was the winner, and IIMR, Ludhiana was runner-up. In the cycle race, 1s was grabbed by IIWBR, Karnal, 2nd by CIPHET, Ludhiana, and 3rd by CSSRI, Karnal. In Carrom (women), NBFGR, Lucknow, and CIRB, Hisar reached in final. In volleyball smashing, CPRI, Shimla was the winner, and DNR, Solan was runner-up.
Many matches were played for cricket, football, chess, and badminton. This tournament promotes healthy competition, unity, and sportsmanship among employees of ICAR institutes, exemplifying the spirit of diversity within the organization.
