IDPD organised second medical check-up camp at Singhu Border
Government’s apathy towards protestors health ironical: Dr Arun Mitra
Ludhiana: Dr. Arun Mitra, Senior Vice President, Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) said in a statement issued here today that a check-up camp was organised at Singhu border on 9th and 10 Dec. In both the days, about 600 people, who were suffering from diseases due to the growing cold, underwent check-ups. Among them were a large number of elderly people. Addressing the agitating farmers and workers, Dr. Mitra said that it was the responsibility of the government to ensure the health of the farmers and workers who were protesting peacefully. He said that today, on the occasion of Human Rights Day, it became even more important on December 10 as it was a human right of the protesters. It is ironical that the government has not taken a single step to give medical aid to the protestors and all the medical care to the protestors is being provided by the non-government organisations.
Apart from Dr. Mitra, the medical team included Dr. Suraj, Kuldeep Singh Binder, Anod Kumar and MS Bhatia.
