IET India announces special 50th episode of online webinar series digital conversations - ‘Technology For Peace’
The Institution of Engineering and Technology has announced the 50th edition of IET India Digital Conversations on the theme "Technology for Peace”.
Bangalore, May 26, 2022: The Institution of Engineering and Technology has announced the 50th edition of IET India Digital Conversations on the theme "Technology for Peace”. The panel discussion aims to highlight the role of new technologies in helping prevent conflict by reducing the gap between warning and response, facilitating peacekeeping through new tools, and supporting peacebuilding by empowering local actors. The discussion will take place on the 27th of May, 2022 from 2PM-3:30PM. This special edition is a milestone which marks the 50th episode for IET India’s Digital Conversations, which has so far had 49 episodes with 200+ global speakers and 13000+ attendees representing 52 countries.
The panel will feature eminent speakers with significant contributions across areas such as fact-checking using AI, on-the-go ambulance tracking services and providing solutions to challenges in the world economy. The panelists are Pranav Bajaj, Co-Founder, Medulance, Dr Lisa Schirch, Senior Research Fellow, Toda Peace Institute, Lyric Jain, CEO, Logically and Vignesh Santhanam, India Lead (Aerospace and Drones), World Economic Forum. The session will be moderated by Charles Assisi, Author and Co-Founder, Founding Fuel.
The session will feature insights on peacemaking, peacebuilding and peacekeeping. It will highlight the ways in which technology can be used to achieve desirable results across diverse areas such as communication, food supply and mobility. Some aspects of discussion include the role of cutting-edge technologies in maintaining peace and improving the economy, how technology can resolve issues related to communication, mobility and food supply, the use of technology to curb the spread of fake news, and the role of predictive analytics in improving emergency services.
As we enter the post-pandemic period, there is a dire need to resolve prevailing economic and geopolitical conflicts. Technological advancements are evolving at an exponential rate, and this has enabled the use of sophisticated technologies for peacemaking operations. The panel discussion aims to facilitate a discussion on the same and inspire further innovation in the field.

Over the past 2 years, the IET India Digital Conversations has become one of the most credible and engaging digital platforms which brings together global influencers and experts for each episode.
