IKG PTU celebrated National Voters’ Day enthusiastically

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, January 30, 2025: The Departments of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Activities and NSS of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) Main Campus celebrates National Voters’ Day on January 27, 2025. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal presided over the event and Registrar Dr. S. K. Misra mentored the event. Dr. Satvir Singh, Dean Student Welfare joined the event to motivate the participants. Dr. Kapil Gupta, Nodal Officer SVEEP Activities; faculty members, research scholars and students from all teaching departments participated in the program enthusiastically.
VC Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal also motivates the students, research scholars, faculty and staff members for casting their vote in the elections and strengthening the democracy of the country. Dr. S. K. Misra explained the importance of voting rights granted to every citizen by the constitution. He mentioned that by casting a vote, we not only elect the Government but also decide the destiny of our nation. Dr. Satvir Singh citing the importance of exercising the voting right stated that voting right enables all citizens of the country to elect right people at the top positions who frame policies to shape our destiny.
Various video clips broadcasted by Election Commission of India were played to motivate the participants about their voting rights. Voters’ pledge was read, and all participants took pledge that they shall exercise their voting right without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement. At the conclusion of the program, all participants sung the National Anthem.
