IKGPTU Organises International Conference on Indian Knowledge System From Glorious Past to Bright Future

Jalandhar/Kapurthala: I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) organises International Conference on Indian Knowledge System: From Glorious Past to Bright Future in association with Maharaja Agrasen University, Baddi (MAU) and Baba Mastnath University, Rohtak (BMU). The conference has been organised in blended (online + offline) mode. The conference has invited research papers in the disciplines of Management, Law, Basic & Applied Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and General & Social Sciences. The conference has received an overwhelming response reflecting in over 450 research papers being presented in technical sessions by more than 550 participants from 13 states including Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttrakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh to name a few, suggesting Pan India representation. It is also pertinent to note here that these papers have been published in 6 edited books.

The conference began with an inaugural session in which the IKGPTU team joined on online mode. Mahant Balaknath Yogi Ji, Chancellor, BMU was the Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amrtisar was Guest of Honour in the inaugural session. Prof. Ajay Poddar, Vice Chancellor, TEXILA American University, Zambia acted as keynote speaker.

Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU who has been instrumental in envisioning and planning the conference by three Universities from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana discussed the importance of Indian Knowledge System in contemporary education system and how it can change the quality of life of masses. He shared his vision for this conference. VC Prof. (Dr.) Mittal & IKGPTU Registrar Dr S K Misra congratulated Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Gupta, Vice Chancellor, MAU; Prof. (Dr.) H. L. Verma, Vice Chancellor, BMU and organising teams from three Universities for the grand success of the conference. Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla, Dean Academics IKGPTU discussed the importance of IKS, which encompasses a wide range of disciplines, including mathematics, astronomy, medicine, philosophy, and ecology, reflecting the depth and diversity of India's intellectual heritage.

Eminent speakers include Prof. Sudhir Arya, Former Dean, JNU, Delhi; Dr. Nand Kishore Garg, Chancellor, MAU and Sh. Suresh Gupta, Project Director shared their vision about the Indian Knowledge System and congratulated the three Universities for the successful organisation of this conference. Mahant Balaknath Yogi Ji has been conferred with the Life Time Achievement Award. Dr. Pankaj Nanglia, Registrar, MAU proposed vote of thanks. The session ended with the National Anthem. The inaugural session was followed by six parallel technical sessions on Management, Law, Basic & Applied Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and General & Social Sciences where researchers from various domains presented their research work.
