IKGPTU organized One Week National Workshop on Recent Advances in Research Methodology & Data Analysis

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, October 9, 2024: I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) organizes ‘One Week National Workshop on Recent Advances in Research Methodology & Data Analysis’ in collaboration with Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU), Baddi from September 23-28, 2024. It was in blended (Online + Offline) modes.

The workshop has been conducted as per the initiative of Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU and Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Gupta, Vice Chancellor, MAU to equip students, research scholars and faculty members with the recent advances in research design, methodology and data analytical skills. VC Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal & Registrar Dr.S.K.Misra, motivated the team to organize such academic events for the academic growth of the students & faculty. Over 80 students, research scholars and faculty members hailing from different disciplines like Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Applied Sciences, Laws etc. from various colleges and Universities have participated in the workshop. Faculty members from IKGPTU, MAU and other renowned Universities like Panjab University, Chandigarh have acted as resource persons and conducted various technical sessions in the workshop. 

Prof. (Dr.) Upasana Joshi, Director ICSSR, Northwestern Region Punjab University, Chandigarh delivered the keynote speech and Prof. Dr. H. L. Verma, Vice Chancellor, Baba Mastnath University, Rohtak presided over the inaugural function on September 23, 2024. Kewal Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Whip, INC, Himachal Pradesh presided over the valedictory session of the workshop on September 28, 2024.

The content of the workshop was designed to begin with introduction to research design, concepts of sampling, hypothesis testing, various analytical tools for analysis and thus, describing the art and science of report writing and how the researchers can prepare their research papers for publication in good quality journals.

Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor of IKGPTU encouraged the participants to use their learnings during the workshop in their research and publish in top tier and good quality journals. He also emphasised that integrity in research is the core principle of research. Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Gupta, Vice Chancellor of MAU emphasised the role of continuous learning during the present dynamic environment and articulated that learning about data analytics shall be very useful for the research scholars and faculty members in their teaching and research.
