IKGPTU organized Seminar for positive mindset on topic “Mind Your Mind”
The Centre for Soft Skills at I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University Main campus Kapurthala organized a one-day seminar on "Mind Your Mind". It was organized for the students of various Departments on 19th March during the Mentoring and Professional Development (MPD) lectures as per the schedule. This event was mentored by the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal. Registrar Dr. S.K Misra congratulated the team of Center for Soft Skills for this successful event. Dean Academic Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla led the event activities.
Jalandhar/Kapurthala, March 22, 2024: The Centre for Soft Skills at I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University Main campus Kapurthala organized a one-day seminar on "Mind Your Mind". It was organized for the students of various Departments on 19th March during the Mentoring and Professional Development (MPD) lectures as per the schedule. Sanjay Singh, an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, was the expert from the SAVE Society. More than 120 students of the departments participated with great enthusiasm. During the seminar, he introduced and elaborated the existence of the important patterns in our daily lives.
Such patterns are majorly the sources of stress, like procrastination, and addiction to social media. Especially, such patterns impact the time management of the students during their regular studies and erode the meticulous approach of achieving targets. During the interaction with students, he emphasized the resilience maintained by successful persons like Sachin Tendulkar, Nelson Mandela, Harry Potter, and Bill Gates, illustrating how they overcome disappointments and rejections in life by maintaining a positive mindset. Additionally, a range of subjects was discussed during the seminar, which influences the subconscious mind, and impacts stress & anxiety. It increases the depression and suicide rates. Taking the references from the shlokas of the holy Bhagvat Gita, the expert addressed the practices to be used to control the turbulent mind.
Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla - Dean of Academics commended the distinguished speaker for their efforts in mentoring and educating students on how to protect themselves from harmful habits and disorganized lifestyles that might result in stress.
The coordinator of the seminar explained the importance of the seminar. During the seminar, Dr. Pooja Mehta, Dr Akhil Gupta, and other faculty members from all departments coordinated the event for the successful completion of the seminar. Finally, the coordinator, Dr. Dalveer Kaur thanked the university staff for the support provided.
