IKGPTU signed MoU with Quality Council of India
It's time to work on quality education only & both the institutes will work together on this agenda: IAS Rahul Bhandari
Jalandhar/Kapurthala, June 11, 2022: with an objective of promoting quality & practical technical education in the state of Punjab, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Quality Council of India (QCI) New Delhi. The both institutes explored that there is a need for quality education institutions and quality work will support quality capacity building in the state technical education sector. Review and introducing new training programmes, giving better recognition to e-learning courses is the base of this MoU. The university will get new areas to encourage its students in traiing, while the council will help in increasing the quality work.
It is worth mentioning that QCI is a national accreditation and apex quality facilitation body. It establishes & operates national accreditation structure and promotes quality through National Quality Campaigns, MoUs etc. The promotion of quality encompasses all segments including laboratory accreditation, manufacturing, health, education and public services is its responsibility. QCI has started e-Quest which offers eLearning courses on various themes that form the core areas of QCI.
Rahul Bhandari, Sr. IAS, Principal Secretary Technical Education Govt. of Punjab cum Vice Chancellor IKGPTU congratulated the University team for this initiative. He said that the time is to work together on quality education and such agreements will play a great role in the agenda of quality technical education for youth of India.
University Registrar Dr. S.K Mishra said that this MoU is a direct benefit to the students of the University. He inspired everyone to do better in future.
Joint Registrar IKG PTU, Dr. R.P.S Bedi said that keeping in mind the needs of the industry and academia, we will work to review the entire process of current sharing feedback, inputs for designing new courses and its development. He said that a blended education system will be established; new areas will also be identified for conducting training programs through this agreement. According to Dr. Bedi, both the institutions will share their human resources with each other within the scope of the agreement, which will give an opportunity to both the institutions to learn from each other.
Both institutions will also work on transferring the credits of the e-quest in various defined courses.
On this occasion, the Secretary General, Quality Council of India, Dr. Ravi Pal Singh appreciated this agreement initiative and called it a better initiative for both the institutions.
