Jalandhar:  With an aim to enhance the employability of students and to develop their communication skills for global job sector, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cambridge Assessment English, a department of the University of Cambridge. This MOU will support only students of IKGPTU, its campuses & affiliated Colleges across the state.
 

It is worth mentioning that IKGPTU is recently recognized by NIRF-MHRD as one of the high ranked state technical universities of India for setting up high standards and imparting quality education. The Memorandum of Understanding bears testimony to this fact and aims to enhance the English language proficiency of all the students of IKGPTU and redefine the scope & creating access to language learning of the students.
 

From University side, Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma and from Cambridge Assessment side Regional Director - South Asia Mr. T.K. Arunachalam signed on this MOU. Cambridge English will develop a systematic method to improve the English language skills of students through continuous assessments, benchmarked on international standards.
 

On this occasion, VC Prof. Sharma said that the University is committed to serve with the best facilities to students in terms of their overall personality development. Mr.T.K. Arunachalam said that they are in trust and look forward to a very fruitful partnership ahead to promote language excellence. He confirmed that they will facilitate the mutual sharing of best practices and expertise in the development of English language & Communication skills through this MOU.
 

Cambridge Assessment English is a not-for-profit department of the University of Cambridge. It exists to help people learn English and prove their skills to the world, and every year provides English language exams and tests for more than five million people in 130 countries. Cambridge Assessment English exams such as the BEC Business English Certificates and other Cambridge English Qualifications are widely used in Indian schools, universities and workplaces, and the organization has recently launched Linguaskill, an accurate tool with fast results designed to help employers test language skills and candidates and employees.
