IKGPTU students become part of competitions organized in IIT Bombay

Jalandhar/Kapurthala: The students of Civil Engineering Department of I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) participated in the national level competition at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, a prestigious technical education institute of the country. Students took part in various level competitions. On their back at the university, Registrar Dr. S.K Misra and Dean Academic Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla congratulated the students and motivated them to be a part of more competitions in future. The students have thanked the Registrar and the Dean for giving them this opportunity.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Chauhan, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, shared that on March 18 and 19, 2023, a national level program named “Aakar” was organized at IIT Bombay, in which various topics related to civil engineering were discussed. Competitions were held. In this, Hardik Bajaj, Akhil Sharma, Rahul Parashar, Javed Alam, Nishant Marwaha, Amritpal Singh, students of B.Tech IV Semester of Civil Engineering Department, participated as two teams. They participated in bridge competitions.
These students have secured 7th and 13th position in various competitions among 54 teams across the country. All students received a certificate of participation. This was the 15th edition of the fest. Students also participated in exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions and showcased projects there. Head of Department Prof. Dr. Rajiv Chauhan told the students about the concept, load bearing and strength of the bridge. He met with professors of the Civil Department of IIT Bombay. Prof. Chauhan also discussed possibilities of research and academic collaboration with Dr. Dipankar Chowdhary, Head Civil Engineering, IIT Bombay.
