Jalandhar/Kapurthala, October 18, 2023: In addition to academic studies, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) is ahead in nurturing the sports spirit of its students. The university also organizes sports competitions for its students from time to time, in which all the colleges of Punjab are invited for talent competitions. The annual sports calendar of the university further enhances the sporting talent of the students. This information is part of the message issued to the students by Dr. Susheel Mittal, Vice-Chancellor (IKG PTU). This message of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mittal was shared with the students/participants in his absence during the two-days Kabaddi Tournament held on 16 and 17 October at university main campus Kapurthala. Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Susheel Mittal this event went well. Registrar of the university Dr. S.K. Misra joined event as the chief guest.

CGC Jhanjeri, an affiliated institution of the University wins first position in Kabaddi Tournament. In the competition, the university main campus Kapurthala was in the second position and DAVIET Jalandhar was at the third position. Top talented kabaddi teams from colleges affiliated to the university were invited to the tournament. Throughout the event, the players displayed their skills, determination and teamwork, keeping the atmosphere full of excitement and sportsmanship.

Registrar Dr. S.K. misra expressing his enthusiasm for the tournament in his opening speech inspired the youth to keep a positive attitude towards sports, art and enthusiasm always high. He also talked about the importance of sports competitions in student life. He praised the performance and hard work of the participating teams. Registrar Dr. Misra said to proceed in a planned way to perform better in both academics and sports.

On this occasion, Dean College Development Dr. Balkar Singh, Dean R&D Dr. Hitesh Sharman, Deputy Controller Dr. Nitya Sharman, Deputy Registrar Student Welfare Joginder Singh, Coordinator Vinay Kehar and others were present.
